Ashley's Sweets

Ok, so as everybody knows, these economic times are getting the best of some of us, so I've devised a plan for myself: I'm making homemade sweets like chocolate suckers in the shapes of roses, smiley faces, hearts, etc. I'm also making delicious banana bread, cinnoman rolls, a variety of cookies, and whatever else I'm able to make. I'm creating a blog for it which should be up by the middle to the end of this week with pictures and prices. I'm having a lot of fun with this, and I'm really hoping that I can start to make a profit from it.
If you're interested, let me know, and I can send some free samples your way!

OCD: Obsessive Cullen Disorder

Tiffany called me Thursday night asking if I wanted to meet Kristen Stewart, the girl that plays Bella. Of course I said yes, and she said that she would be at the Riverton Walmart where Anthony works on Friday night for the release of Twilight. After a few more phone calls, and then talking to Anthony, it turned out that it was Rachelle Lafevre, the girl that plays Victoria instead. Which was still pretty cool. I took Kaia with me, who looked totally cute by the way, because she's the one who pretty much introduced us to Twilight. We didn't get to actually meet her, but I got a picture of her and Anthony got some posters that she signed for me and a t-shirt. It was still fun being able to see her and hanging out with Kaia.
And of course, I bought the movie that night, and I've already watched it about 3 times. Like I said, OCD.

Spring Break

McKenna and I took our Spring Break up north. It was so much fun playing with the family and seeing some of my friends! It makes me miss it up there.Kenna just waking up at Kenice's. Isaiah and Jace were in the family room playing nintendo and she wanted to join in.

Hailey is giving Kenna a ride on Avery's little ATV. All the kids loved playing on those!

Dallin, Kloey, Avery, Isaiah, Kayley and Kenna jumping on Crysta's trampoline.
I miss it up there, enough to almost move back up. Almost. But not quite.

Vegas!

A few weeks ago, Kaysha and I went down to Vegas to visit Heather and her fam. I know I'm a little late on posting this, sorry. We had a blast. Heather made lasagna, salad and french bread, which was all delicious. Then after, Kaysha and I went to the park with all the kids.
They're getting so big and beautiful!
Needless to say, we had a ton of fun. And we miss you Heather! I want to come down again, soon!!

Kenna's Prayer

Last night, Kenna wanted to say the prayer and I couldn't help but stifle my laugh! Here's what she said:
"Heavenly Father, bless Handy Manny and his tools. Bless Mommy and Spongebob. Amen."

My Cell Phone Broke

My cell broke so I had to get a new one today, which means I don't have anyone's numbers anymore. :(
If you could either text it to me, or call, that would be great!

Lunch Date

Betsy and Max came down for the weekend, and we went to Red Robin for lunch today.

Max was being so cute and smiley, I couldn't resist taking pictures of him!
Betsy is down for the marathon tomorrow morning, and then she's heading back home right after. It was fun seeing them again, and hopefully I'll be going up north and I'll see them again!

Tonsils Out = No Sleep

McKenna got her tonsils out last Friday, and she hasn't been herself at all. It seems that when the Dr. took out her tonsils, he took with him her manners. She's been ornery, tired, and her breath stinks! The Dr. said her breath (really her throat) will stink for up to a month, as well as her gas. :S He was absolutely right! She can certainly clear a room.... or stink up an entire house. Poor girl.

When the doctor took her into the room, they had to have two men bring her in because she was so strong that she was able to get out of their grasp. Then, when they were done and she finally woke up, they had to have THREE grown men bring her into the waiting room where I was to meet her. At least we know that she won't ever be kidnapped! (at least that's what the nurse said!)

So far, today, she's been good. But that's when it'll start getting worse. So, wish me luck during the next week and a half. I'll need it.

I'm feeling like I'm working on my last nerve. :(

Happy New Year!

The doh' brain that I am, I forgot to bring my camera with me last night to my parents where some of my family came down from Orem to play.
There was some really yummy food, fun games, and all the grandkids had a blast playing together. McKenna actually stayed up until midnight to scream, "happy new year"! But she fell asleep as soon as the car was in motion to go home.
We had a lot of fun, and it was a great way to end 2008.

Christmas Day

Every year growing up, my family would have 'hallway' pictures before running into the front room where all of our presents were. We have so many of them, I thought it was a great tradition to keep going in my little family. Kenna is wearing her Christmas Eve P.J.'s from Grammy and Papa

She went straight to the bike, and was so excited!

She loved going through her stocking full of goodies!

She loved all of her presents, and can't seem to stop playing with them!

Later that night, we went to mom and dad's house, where we watched Santa Claus, Christmas Vacation, and opened one last present. McKenna got some make-up, and I got some really nice shampoo and conditioner.

This year was awesome.

'Twas The Night Before Christmas

And all through the house, McKenna made sugar cookies,

even in the shape of a mickey mouse!

The ornaments were hung on the tree with care,

So many presents unloaded, I couldn't help but stare.

Christmas Vacation

I just realized that I haven't even watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. It's tradition in our family to watch it every year, and I haven't even done it! My family will be disappointed. Maybe tomorrow night while we're at Grammy and Papa's we'll all watch it. And if not, then I'll watch it after Kenna goes to bed tomorrow because I know she won't sit through it! Anyway, just thought I'd let you all know. :)

New Job!!

I went in for my interviews today, and I have a job! It's so much more laid back than Gold's, the manager is a friend of mine, AND it's not nearly as busy as Gold's (best part)! They only have enough hours for me to work once or twice a week, which is fine, especially when I start school again.
Totally stoked.

Finals Are Done!

I took my last final today, and now I'm done! I have 3 weeks off w/my beautiful daughter. I also have an interview today at 4:00 over at Desert Palms in the Daycare! It's a fabuloso day. :)

Update.... sorta

I saw my Dr. today, and he gave me some meds to help me sleep (even maybe help me lose weight), and I'm supposed to take them the same time I take the Lyrica for fibromyalgia. He also said that it should help me to wake up "refreshed". lol that's really what he said. He gave me enough for 4 weeks, and then he wants me to go back in when they're gone.
So, we'll see.

Seriously, now...

It's almost 1:30 in the morning, and I can't sleep. Last night, I didn't get to sleep until almost 3. I don't drink that much caffeine (spelling?), so I'm hoping it's not my meds. They usually knock me right out. I have an appt with my Dr. tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully I'll get this fixed. I also hope that it doesn't mean more pills. I already feel like a flippen pill popper with everything he already has me taking! Sad, I know.
Poor me.
Just kidding. I'm not feeling sorry for myself. I do feel loopy though. Maybe that's why I'm typing this, even though nobody is going to read it for hours. Hmm... maybe I need help. Ice cream and chocolate are GREAT therapists!
Well... I'll go try again to fall asleep.
*Muah*
Good night world.

Hide 'n Seek

I passed my math final today, (yay, me!) so I was very happy when Kenna and I got home. It's been snowing all day, and Kenna wanted to go outside, but we don't have the warmest attire for her. So we decided to play hide 'n seek. It was going good for about 15 minutes, and then this was her last hiding spot! After I "found" her, she said she was tired and wanted to rest. I'm guessing that's why she picked the couch! It's been a good day! :)

New Table!

I got a table from the DI, and it's brand new! Lee helped me bring it home in his truck and we put it together. I've been using a black card table that Mitsy bought for me while I was in the hospital with Max, and it was awesome of her and very helpful. The chairs were starting to loosen and fall apart, so that's when I knew it was time for a new one.

Dicken's Festival!

Not the cutest, but at least she didn't cry!

Nora performed at the Dicken's Festival, so I went with Kaysha so that the kids could get their pictures taken. We also got one with The Grinch, but it's on Kaysha's camera. I'll upload it later when she sends one to me.

NFR

Lee and I went to the National Finals Rodeo out in Vegas on Friday, and we had a blast! It was my first time going, and his 23rd, so he had to explain everything to me.

Jake Owen sang on stage before it all started, and then afterward he did a free concert.

One of the guys bucking bronco. lol

Family Fun

We split into 3 groups with all the kids and built gingerbread houses

My team had Hailey, Jarom, Kenna and Alec (Alec didn't really feel like participating though)

After, we went to the temple to see all the pretty lights

Kenna loved running around and going from tree to tree

In the Visitors Center
Taking a walk around the temple

Fun At The Park

riding the teeter-totter

pushing ray-ray on the swing!

We took the kids to the park so that Grammy and Papa could have some moments rest... even though some of the kids left early to go back. We had a lot of fun.

Family Night

adding the buttons on the gingerbread man

We had fun putting it together

Last week on family night, Kenna and I put together a gingerbread house, and then Lee came over and we strung popcorn for the Christmas tree. (that's one of his childhood traditions.) We had a lot of fun :)
